The event, attended by first-semester students of the 2024/2025 academic year, aimed to provide insights into personality development, interpersonal communication, and etiquette in formal settings.

The two-day program was divided into four systematically designed sessions to deliver an optimal learning experience.

In each session, participants received materials on personality development, including tips on dressing, posture, and building a positive self-image. The sessions were delivered by personality experts who shared practical advice to help students appear confident in various situations.

Participants also gained knowledge about interpersonal communication skills, learning basic techniques such as maintaining eye contact, speaking politely, proper dining etiquette, and manners during formal events. Topics covered included the use of dining utensils, proper seating posture, and table conversation etiquette.

Moreover, participants had the opportunity to directly apply their knowledge during a formal dining simulation. In a relaxed yet professional atmosphere, they demonstrated great enthusiasm in practicing dining etiquette and interacting with fellow participants.

This program reflects Undiknas’s commitment to preparing students as individuals who are both academically and socially competent. Many students expressed their appreciation for the program, with one participant stating:
“This event was both enjoyable and educational. We learned a lot about how to conduct ourselves in formal settings, which will definitely be useful in the future.”

This activity aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in the dynamics of journalism, covering both news article production and television broadcasting processes.

The workshop was attended by fifth-semester Communication Science students, who are currently studying courses related to media and journalism. By visiting the office of a well-known media outlet, the students gained practical insights into the workflow of a journalistic organization.

During the workshop, students were introduced to various aspects of journalism, including information gathering, conducting interviews, writing news articles, and the process of television broadcasting. They also had the opportunity to directly interact with journalists, editors, and production crews from Jawapost TV, who shared their experiences and the challenges they face in the media industry.

“This activity is very beneficial as we got to witness firsthand how news is produced. It enriches our understanding, which we previously gained only through theoretical learning in class,” said one of the participating students.

In addition, the students toured the Radar Bali editorial office and the Jawapost TV broadcast studio. Here, they observed how media teams work collaboratively to produce informative and high-quality content.

The workshop was designed to provide contextual learning that aligns with the demands of the communication industry.

“By visiting a media office directly, students can observe the entire journalistic process, understand the roles of each individual involved, and develop their analytical and practical skills as future media professionals,” explained the supervising lecturer accompanying the activity.

This activity is part of Undiknas’s effort to integrate academic learning with real-world experience. It aims to better prepare students to face challenges in the workforce, particularly in the communication and media industries.

Through this workshop, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional continues to demonstrate its commitment to producing competent graduates ready to compete in the digital era. Radar Bali – Jawapost TV also welcomed the collaboration, hoping it will serve as a stepping stone toward building strategic relationships between academia and the media industry.

With the theme “TAKI TAKINING SEWAKA GUNA WIDYA,” meaning devotion to virtue and artistic knowledge in social life, this event took place over two weeks in Banjar Dauh Labak, Singakerta Village, Ubud Regency.

Social Work 2024 aimed to teach the art of Baleganjur music to children under the age of 15 in Banjar Dauh Labak. This program not only served as a means of traditional art education but also contributed to the preservation of Bali’s cultural heritage. The event involved various parties, including the Kelian Adat and Kelian Dinas of Banjar Dauh Labak, the Head of Seka Truna-Truni, the Banjar Arts Department, Banjar Dauh Labak’s percussion instructors, as well as members and trainers from UKM Karawitan Taksu Abhinaya.

The opening ceremony of Social Work 2024 was marked by the symbolic striking of the gong by I Gusti Ngurah Oka Ariwangsa, S.E., M.M., Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, who also serves as the Head of the Student Organization and Activities Center at Undiknas. Following the opening event, participants were introduced to the children who would receive training in Baleganjur traditional music.

The training began with the reong instrument, which is considered the most challenging part as it carries the melody of the composition. The lessons continued with kendang and ceng-ceng, followed by kajar, kempli, gong, and bende, allowing all instruments to come together and create a complete melody. During these sessions, participants were taught the beginning section of the composition, known as Kawitan.

The training then progressed to the Pengecet section, which is characterized by dynamic variations and serves as the climax of the composition. Children learned how to control tempo and volume to evoke emotions in the performance. The final stage of training focused on the Pekaad, the closing section of the piece. A full rehearsal was conducted in preparation for the final performance at the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony of Social Work 2024 was once again marked by the symbolic striking of the gong by I Gusti Ngurah Oka Ariwangsa, S.E., M.M.. The culmination of 11 days of training was showcased in a performance by the children of Banjar Dauh Labak, witnessed by the local community, including Kelian Adat, youth representatives, instructors, and members of UKM Karawitan Taksu Abhinaya. This performance symbolized the success of the Social Work 2024 program.

The Social Work 2024 initiative by UKM Karawitan Taksu Abhinaya contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. By providing traditional music education to the younger generation, this initiative supports inclusive education and the preservation of local culture as an integral part of Bali’s identity. By offering free access to artistic education, the program helps children develop an appreciation for their cultural heritage while simultaneously strengthening the sustainability of traditional arts communities in Bali.

The first session of this program took place, featuring visits to two key business locations in Bali: Jungle Gold Bali chocolate factory and Secret Garden Village.

The Company Visit aimed to provide students with firsthand experience of business operations, industry challenges, and strategies used to stay competitive in the market. Students from various study programs participated in this initiative, which was designed to broaden their knowledge as future young entrepreneurs.

At Jungle Gold Bali chocolate factory, participants were introduced to the production process of high-quality chocolate, from cocoa bean selection and fermentation to the final product. Students also gained insights into the importance of maintaining product quality to compete in both local and international markets.

Meanwhile, the visit to Secret Garden Village offered a unique experience in understanding how educational tourism is integrated into a business model. Participants explored the company’s journey in combining traditional beauty products, a café, and an educational area into a top tourist destination.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with company management. Topics covered included business challenges, the importance of innovation, and strategies for building a strong brand in a competitive market.

“This activity is incredibly beneficial as it provides real-world insights into how a company operates and overcomes challenges. I feel more motivated to develop my own business ideas,” said one of the Company Visit participants.

The Company Visit is structured into two sessions, allowing all participants to gain more focused and in-depth learning experiences. This first session concluded with evaluations and group discussions to reinforce students’ understanding of their experiences.

Through initiatives like this, Undiknas remains committed to providing practical learning experiences for its students. The Company Visit is one of the university’s concrete efforts to equip young generations with practical knowledge relevant to the workforce and business world.

This two-day event, held on July , 2024, aimed to enhance the market value of Pedawa’s signature palm sugar through education and the creation of a branding video that the local community can use as a promotional tool.

The first day began with a seminar themed “Enhancing the Market Value of Pedawa’s Signature Palm Sugar,” held at Wantilan Pedawa. The seminar was attended by villagers, including palm sugar farmers, who play a key role in improving the quality and marketing of this local product. The event was officially opened by invited representatives and continued with presentations from two experts in agriculture and entrepreneurship.

The first speaker, Mr. Anak Agung Gede Agung Wedhatama P., M.Eng, is the Chairman of the Young Cool Farmers Community and the owner of several agricultural businesses. The second speaker, Ms. Putu Titha Paramita Pika, S.E., M.M, is an active lecturer at Undiknas, specializing in business management and entrepreneurship. The seminar was moderated by Berlian Putri Utama.

Following the seminar, the team proceeded with the branding video production, documenting the step-by-step process of making Pedawa’s palm sugar. This video is expected to help local farmers promote their products to a wider market, increase product appeal, and strengthen the identity of Pedawa’s palm sugar.

On the second day, participants and organizers continued with interviews and further branding video production. They conducted interviews with a palm sugar farmer and the Head of Pedawa Hamlet, who is also an entrepreneur in the palm sugar industry.

The ABDI PM team then visited palm seedling nurseries, palm sugar production sites, and several key locations in the village connected to the industry. Throughout these activities, they were accompanied by the Head of Pedawa Hamlet. The final documentation will be used as a promotional tool and handed over to the village community to support the marketing of Pedawa’s palm sugar.

The ABDI PM: Meraki Asa initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth,
  • Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Through seminars and branding videos, the Pedawa community gains access to entrepreneurship education and modern marketing strategies that can help increase their income. Additionally, promoting local products such as Pedawa’s palm sugar contributes to the preservation of sustainable traditional agricultural practices.

The success of this program would not have been possible without the support of various parties, including the local community and academics. It is hoped that the ABDI PM program can continue annually, bringing greater benefits to rural communities while reinforcing students’ commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in community service.

Accompanied by the Head of the Tourism Destination Study Program, Ni Nyoman Sri Wisudawati, S.ST.Par., M.Par., and other faculty members, this activity aimed to provide students with deep insights into the management of art and culture-based tourist destinations.

During the visit, students were guided by the second-generation managers of the museum, Mario Blanco and Antonio Blanco Junior. Mario Blanco shared the history of the Blanco Museum, a sanctuary dedicated to the works of his late father, the celebrated artist Don Antonio Blanco. He emphasized that the museum is not merely a space to display paintings but serves as a medium for preserving and passing on the stories and artistic experiences of the late artist from one generation to the next.

The students learned how art, such as paintings, can attract visitors from around the world. They also gained knowledge about museum management techniques, strategies for promoting art-based destinations, and the importance of integrating local culture into tourism.

Mario Blanco delivered a meaningful message to the students, emphasizing the role of young generations in preserving local culture amidst the wave of globalization. “We must take pride in our cultural authenticity, not only in Bali but throughout Indonesia. This uniqueness makes us special and a major draw for tourists without succumbing to the concept of tourism that solely focuses on profit,” said Mario Blanco.

He further stressed the significance of understanding cultural values as a heritage that must be preserved. This ensures that destinations like the Blanco Museum can continue to be iconic representations of art and culture, supporting sustainable tourism development.

This visit provided invaluable experiences for the students, helping them understand how art and culture can be integrated into developing tourist destinations. Beyond practical knowledge, the activity also inspired them to contribute to preserving local culture.

The Blanco Museum stands not only as a legacy of Don Antonio Blanco’s artistic journey but also as a symbol of commitment to preserving Bali’s rich and unique cultural heritage.

This model leverages AR technology to introduce an immersive virtual tourism concept. It allows users to explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Lembuh Putih virtually. This approach not only provides a rich and engaging tourism experience but also supports environmental conservation and cultural preservation. Visitors can learn about the region’s natural wonders and traditions from the comfort of their homes, making it an eco-friendly solution for modern tourism.

 

The primary objective of this development is to enhance public awareness of tourism potential while introducing educational methods that use advanced digital technology. Additionally, the model aims to inspire young generations to engage in creating sustainable and eco-conscious tourism industries.

 

With “Konservasi Digital Lembuh Putih” officially registered as intellectual property, Undiknas’ Faculty of Tourism has proven that academic innovation can make a tangible impact. The program’s grand finale featured group project presentations that participants had developed throughout the program. Held in the Theater Room at Undiknas, the presentation session was attended by several Undiknas lecturers who had supported the participants during the program, including Ida Nyoman Basmantra, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.M.; Ni Putu Intan Permatasari, S.Pd., M.Pd.; Anak Agung Mia Intentilia, S.IP., M.A.; Made Ratih Nurmalasari, S.E., M.M.; Ni Putu Ari Krismajayanti, S.M., M.M.; and I Gusti Ngurah Gede Agung Pradipta, S.IP., M.Si.

 

During the presentations, participants showcased their in-depth understanding of various topics, ranging from Indonesia’s culture and political dynamics to ASEAN business strategies. They proposed innovative solutions and ideas inspired by discussions and field visits conducted throughout the program. Each group presented their projects for 15 minutes, followed by an engaging Q&A session.

 

Following the presentations, a lunch gathering allowed participants and lecturers to enjoy their final moments together. The warm and appreciative atmosphere made this farewell session particularly memorable.

 

As part of the closing activities, participants visited the Bajra Sandhi Museum in Denpasar. Here, they explored the history of the Balinese people’s struggles and gained a deeper appreciation for the island’s rich cultural and historical heritage. This visit served as a perfect ending to the Bali Beyond Borders program, wrapping up a journey of learning and cultural exchange that participants will not soon forget.

The day began with a class titled “Political Dynamics of Indonesia,” held in the Social Lab at Undiknas. Led by lecturer Anak Agung Mia Intentilia, S.IP., M.A., the session explored Indonesia’s political landscape, covering topics such as the nation’s governance, policy development, and Indonesia’s role in ASEAN. Participants gained a deep understanding of how political decisions shape business practices, cultural development, and social policies, providing essential context for conducting business in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Following the academic session, the participants embarked on a company visit to Rupa Silver House, accompanied by Caren Angelina Mimaki, S.Ak., M.M. This visit introduced participants to the world of Balinese craftsmanship, particularly in silver jewelry. At Rupa Silver House, participants observed the intricate silver-making process, from design to production, and learned about the company’s strategies for reaching both local and international markets. The visit offered insights into how traditional businesses integrate heritage with modern business strategies, an experience valuable for those studying cultural entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices.

The day concluded with a group project discussion facilitated by Gusti Ayu Kade Dhea Pramesti, S.S. During this session, participants collaborated on their group projects, reflecting on the week’s learnings to develop business strategies and proposals for their final presentations. They discussed how Indonesia’s political climate and cultural businesses, like Rupa Silver House, could impact the development of business plans tailored for the ASEAN market.

The day featured insightful class sessions and a company visit, providing real-world examples of sustainability in business operations.

The day began with a class titled Environmental Sustainability and Business in ASEAN, led by Undiknas lecturer I Gusti Ngurah Gede Agung Pradipta, S.IP., M.Si. Participants were guided through the intricate relationship between environmental sustainability efforts and business strategies in the ASEAN region.

Discussions covered various approaches that companies can adopt to integrate sustainability principles into their operations, regardless of scale. The session also highlighted challenges faced by ASEAN countries in balancing economic growth with environmental preservation, emphasizing the importance of innovation and cross-sector collaboration.

Following the class, participants visited the Kutus-Kutus Organic Oil Company in Gianyar, renowned for its organic oil products made from locally sourced natural ingredients, including traditional Balinese herbs and plants.

Accompanied by Ni Made Prasiwi Bestari, S.IP., M.Par. and Budi Shantika, S.Par., M.Tr.Par., participants witnessed the production process of Kutus-Kutus oil firsthand. This included selecting raw materials, environmentally friendly processing techniques, and marketing strategies that emphasize sustainability and cultural values.

The visit provided participants with practical insights into how local businesses can adopt sustainable practices while promoting cultural heritage and regional products.

The fifth day concluded with a visit to Bali Museum Bajra Sandhi in Denpasar. The museum not only chronicles the history of Bali’s struggles but also offers participants a deeper understanding of the close relationship between Balinese culture and its natural environment.

Day five strengthened participants’ understanding of how environmental sustainability can form the core of successful business strategies. From academic discussions to hands-on field experiences, the activities offered a holistic perspective on the importance of protecting the environment while supporting local economic growth.
